Sri. K. Gopalakrishna Bhat IAS, the District Collector of Wayand has launched an innovative programme of carrying solutions to the door-steps of common people. "Janangalilekku" is organised at the Grama Panchayath level with the help of people's representatives and department officers. Main thrust is given to solve common man's problems such as ration card, land possession, distress assistance, housing etc. This movement touching the needs and grievance of the poor and marginalised sections of the society, has started getting people's applause. The programme is featured especially on its people friendly approach and problem solving attitude. The problems and requirements of the people are discussed at the grass root level and solutions are sorted out at the venue itself.

     The Grama Panchayaths and Department Officers are giving all support and co-operation to the District Collector. The first of such programme was conducted in Thirunelly Grama Panchayath on 18.04.2012. It was started at 10. AM and went upto 7 O'clock in the evening.

Progress

     Programme has been completed in the following Panchayaths. Hundreds of people met the District Collector and returned with a smile on their faces.
